Aerobic level: Moderate with some difficult sections. Technical difficulty: Although much of the trail itself is in decent condition and would otherwise be rated a moderate, the combination of overgro2 hours1,700 feet5,750 feetSee my previous 12/2001 report for details on getting to the trail head. On this particular ride we had quite a bit of rain a few hours earlier. Quite a lot of water down the streams, making for more fun at the crossings. MTB shoes with cleats can be dicy on the wet rocks! Wet terrain is where disc brakes really rock. After getting by the various rocky uphill sections my friend and I started into the switchbacks. I managed to clear 5 of the 7 turns without dabbing. (yay!) Despite the cold and the wind at the higher trail elevations I was really amazed at all of the wildflowers and the riot of colors. I've been up in the Santa Ana mountains manyu times over the last 30 years and cannot remeber such a sight. Unfortunately the rain had not only spurred more trail overgrowth, but it was all dripping wet and soon so was I. I did bring a waterproof jacket but my gloves, shoes, and shorts were really soaked. We stopped about one mile short of the Main Divide Truck Trail and turned around. The downnhill piece of this ride is always the best! I even blitzed a few of the nasty wet rocky stream crossings. Next thing we knew we were back at the car and ready for a hot shower. Next time we'll go to the truck trail and come back down West Horsethief with its steep multi switchback descent. The previous post by Jeff is NOT Holy Jim, but is Santiago Truck Trail to Old Camp. Holy Jim starts at the end of Trabuco Creek Road, a rutted, bouncy, muddy excuse for a road. The locals consider it "theirs" so be polite and wave to them, mind the speed limit, and watch for other vehicles. After a little under 5 miles you'll hit the junction of Holy Jim (6S14) where there is limited parking. The initial part of the trail is a dirt road that passes several houses so be respectful. The trail starts at the end on your left with a stream crossing. It is 5 miles of single track after this, all uphill, and there can be many hikers. Just keep reminding yourself "The downhill will be awesome!". After 5 miles you'll hit the Main Divide Truck Trail (3S04) where you'll turn LEFT. You have gained about 2000 feet in altitude at this point and have almost 2000 feet more up a loose, rocky fireroad that often sees out of control motorcycles and 4 wheelers so be alert! It is about 3 miles to the top so it is a steeper grind. By the time that I hit the top I had spent about 2.5 hours + breaks grinding up. It was COLD at the top (5687' altitude) and cloudy. After a half hour rest hydrating and snacking, I set off downhill. It was worth it!! I ripped down the fireroad and then hit the 5 miles of single track, switchbacks and stream crossings. There were few others on the trail but I was cautious whenever I couldn't see farther than 20' ahead. The downhill "only" lasted an hour!! This is a long ride but well worth it. Men Nike Free Run 2 Black White Blue Yellow,There are lots of children's footwear brands and styles to choose from nowadays and it can get confusing as to what to buy. When you do start shopping for a good fall/winter shoe for your child be sure to checkout styles that have the added benefit of GORE TEX waterproof and breathable technology. A great brand to check out is Primigi, an Italian footwear company known for high quality fashionable and comfortable children's footwear, which uses GORE TEX in a selection of boots for boys and girls. I have always been a fan of Primigi shoes. I love the design and the flexibility of the shoe, so I was excited when the opportunity to test out a pair of boots featuring GORE TEX came my way. I knew my daughter would love the style called Macy, which of course she did. The Macy is a beautiful stylish winter boot that is constructed with GORE TEX membranes providing high breathability and durable waterproof protection. The boot also has a mix of suede fabric, faux fur lining and a toggle closure rather than a zipper or a tie lace. On a recent rainy my daughter wore the boots and they definitely lived up to its claim. She walked in the rain and jumped in a few puddles and her feet were 100% dry. My daughter also said they were great because they were warm and comfortable. I love that these boots are stylish and functional at the same time due to the benefits of GORE TEX technology (waterproof, flexible, comfortable, breathable). I have not found many boots for the cold weather that can achieve this, so I am glad that Primigi and GORE TEX have such a wonderful working relationship and can work together on such a fantastic line of boots. Like me you might be wondering how GORE TEX works. GORE TEX is designed to keep out water but still allows perspiration to escape. This keeps feet warm, dry and comfortable. The key to the success of the technology is the size of the fabric's pores. Each pore is 20,000 times smaller than a water droplet, but still large enough to allow moisture vapor to escape. This is how the fabric technology is able to be both waterproof and breathable. With the upcoming winter months here in the Northeast, I highly recommend getting a good pair of boots for your child. The boots are a little pricey but definitely worth it. The Macy style retails for $135.95 and can be found at shoe stores around the United States. Here in New Jersey the shoes are available Jenny Jon Fine Shoes Paramus, NJ; Closter Bootery of Footwear Closter, NJ; Ridgewood Bootery Ridgewood, NJ. But as long. Tips for moving houseplants from outdoors to indoorsMany gardeners keep their houseplants outside during the summer and move them inside for the winter. Typically this is a good strategy but with moving plants in during the winter the plants.

Well, someday means now for Ryan, whose team fell a win short of reaching the Super Bowl last season. "Our goal has never changed," the Jets' brash coach said. "Everyone laughed at us last year when we said we were going to do this and that and we backed it up, with a huge exception. We failed at our goal and this year, we're going to attack it. We're going to go try and reach that goal, and we're going to do it next year, too." Once one of the more tightlipped franchises in the league, the Jets have opened their doors to everyone with an appearance on HBO's "Hard Knocks" and a coach who says whatever is on his mind. "I think Rex's attitude and enthusiasm trickles down," said Jason Taylor, one of a handful of new players this season. The Jets certainly are built like a team with its sights set on winning now. Despite having limited flexibility in free agency because of NFL rules, general manager Mike Tannenbaum kept the Jets in the headlines throughout the offseason. He allowed a few popular players such as Thomas Jones, Leon Washington, Alan Faneca and Jay Feely to leave, while signing a pair of potential Hall of Famers in Taylor and LaDainian Tomlinson. Tannenbaum also traded for two troubled but talented young players in Santonio Holmes and Antonio Cromartie. They all are expected to play major roles for a team with a win now mentality. "It's kind of weird," said Tomlinson, who spent his first nine seasons with the Chargers. "I'm kind of like, 'I can't believe I'm here practicing with these guys after just playing them my last game in San Diego.' But, it's funny how things work out. I've always said, 'If you can't beat 'em, join 'em."' Despite the excitement over all the new faces, one player currently not with the team could make a huge difference. All Pro cornerback Darrelle Revis didn't report with the team for training camp and was holding out in a bitter contract dispute. Revis, who finished second in voting for the league's Defensive Player of the Year award, is scheduled to make $1 million in the fourth season of his six year rookie deal. He wants to be the highest paid player at the position, a distinction currently held by Oakland's Nnamdi Asomugha. "Once he gets here, he'll be ready to go," safety Jim Leonhard said. "We hope it's sooner than later, but that's the business side of the game." But will Revis return anytime soon? Revis' agents and the Jets agreed to negotiate behind closed doors after things started turning snippy through the media. If Revis' holdout seeps into the regular season, it will be up to Cromartie and first round pick Kyle Wilson to step up for a defense that ranked No. 1 overall last season. "It's about the unit," Ryan said. "If you have the decal on the side of your helmet that says 'New York Jets' on it, you're a special person and we can get it done." Quarterback Mark Sanchez's development in his second season might be the most important story line this season, whether Revis shows or not. The new face of the franchise had some promising flashes as a rookie, particularly during the team's surprising playoff run. As expected, though, there were a few ugly performances that cost the Jets some wins early. Sanchez threw 12 touchdown passes, but also had 20 interceptions in the regular season. With so many veterans hoping for a run at a Super Bowl ring, the pressure's on the young quarterback to be better and smarter this season. "I think the best thing about it is watching him grow," Tomlinson said. "You're kind of involved in the day to day situations of watching a young guy grow and become an elite quarterback. Mark is very well on his way." A motivated and rejuvenated Tomlinson could play a major role in Sanchez taking that next step. The eighth leading rusher in NFL history gives the Jets a pass catching threat out of the backfield, where bruising second year running back Shonn Greene will step in for the departed Jones. The competition at left guard to replace Faneca will also be important as second year offensive lineman Matt Slauson and second round pick Vladimir Ducasse were about even through two preseason games. After having the top ranked rushing offense last season, the Jets appear poised to air things out a little more with the addition of Holmes. The former Super Bowl MVP with Pittsburgh will miss the first four games while serving a suspension for violating the league's substance abuse policy. But he'll help form a formidable receiving corps with Braylon Edwards, Jerricho Cotchery and Dustin Keller when he returns. Men Nike Free Run 2 Black White Blue Yellow The worst consequence of being overweight was the disappointment I felt in myself. My journey with Weight Watchers began as a New Year's resolution. I had spent my childhood overweight, and my early adult years as a morbidly obese woman. I had lived many unhappy years in my body but, funnily enough, joined Weight Watchers meetings once I had finally reached a point in my life where I was truly happy. My cholesterol was high and I was tired all of the time. My knees ached constantly and I suffered from restless leg syndrome. I got winded easily and my breathing was labored. I couldn't walk up steps without my knees hurting. It was a chore to bend over and tie my shoes, and I didn't sleep well. I suffered socially as well. People looked at me in disgust. It was humiliating; I felt worthless and alone. I was a prisoner in my own body and I didn't know what to do because I had tried all kinds of diets and nothing had seemed to work for me yet. But after seeing a co worker's success with Weight Watchers, I decided to join Weight Watchers meetings and follow the POINTS weight loss system. I was thrilled to discover a wonderful support system both in my meeting room and at home. I let everyone know at home, work, everywhere that I'd joined, so that they would know I was determined and that this was my new way of life. Slow and steady I was getting frustrated when I didn't see the scale move in a downward direction when I felt that I had worked the program to the last detail. Over time I learned to allow my frustration to fuel to my fire and generally I saw a loss the following week. It took me three years to get to my goal weight. Looking back over my Weight Tracker, most of my losses were about a half of a pound per week. Trust me when I tell you that they really add up! Incorporating activity into my life was a very important piece of the plan. I remember sitting in meetings and hearing the Lifetime members talk about how they had made activity non negotiable. I started slowly, purchasing exercise DVDs for at home workouts. I walked, and the walking eventually turned to running. The great thing about losing the weight is that you can start moving more. Once you see what your body is capable of, you want to do more and see how fit you can become. Today, I love that I am a confident, sassy, healthy, life loving me. I know now that I am worth the effort I put into becoming fit. I love that I can go into any store and find clothes that will fit me. I used to try to be invisible because I was so ashamed of how I looked. Now, I enjoy life more. Don't be afraid to take that first step. Have faith in yourself that you can lose the weight. Don't put it off until tomorrow. Journal, journal, journal! There's no way I can remember from one day to the next what I have eaten. Write every little thing down, because it all adds up your activity as well! I still journal daily. Don't just weigh in and leave the meeting. Stay, and you'll find the support you need, advice for any problems you're having, encouragement, and a meeting topic that will help you. Even if you think you've had the worst week and you feel like you've gained, weigh in anyway. If you did gain, think about how well you're going to do next week so you'll see a loss on the scale! Use that as fuel to your fire.
