As the birthplace of Cirque du Soleil and other avant garde performance troupes, each year Montreal draws thousands of talented performers who come to train and audition in the world capital of circus arts. Even those who cannot quite literally bend over backwards can get a taste of circus life at the city flying trapeze centre. Trapezium, located in northeast Montreal, offers regular daily classes as well as private lessons in the art of trapeze. Students, protected with a harness and safety net, swing on a trapeze bar from an elevated platform, with the ultimate goal of letting go and being caught by another swinger. As students progress, instructors (who come from gymnastic, diving and cheerleading backgrounds) teach more complicated tricks that can be combined for a complex routine. Reservations are required for the one to two hour classes, held at 7 pm Monday through Friday and 1 pm on Saturday and Sunday. A group session, limited to 10 participants, costs $40 Canadian dollars per person while private instruction starts at $60 Canadian dollars per hour. The Join the Circus package from the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth hotel includes a private lesson at Trapezium, two sets of trapeze friendly sporting gear and a two night stay for $720 Canadian dollars through October. Rather watch the circus from the sidelines? Reserve tickets to free shows at La Tohu, the local performing arts space next door to Cirque du Soleil headquarters, or mark the calendar for next year Montreal Compl Cirque, the annual circus festival held in July. The weapon police believe was used to end the man's life? A stiletto heel. on Sunday. At the scene, at the luxury Parklane Condominiums, forty four year old Ana Lilia Trujillo led police to the body of her boyfriend. The man was lying in a pool of blood with what looked like multiple stab wounds around his head and neck. He was dead at the scene. After interrogating the woman police believe that the wounds were caused by the heel of a stiletto pump. The woman who called in the incident, Ana Lilia Trujillo, has been charged with the crime. It is believed that the attack came while the couple were arguing during the early morning hours on Sunday. It is an unusual crime for the normally quiet building in Houston's upscale museum district. Bruce Wice, a previous tenant of the condo was interviewed by The Houston Chronicle and expressed his surprise at the crime. "It had a beautiful view and wonderful security," Wice told the Houston Chronicle. "It was a great place to live." Trujillo was the only other person at the scene of the crime when the police arrived. She was arrested by Monday morning and brought to Harris County Jail. Trujillo has since posted a hundred thousand dollar bail and been released. A press release from the Houston police is unclear as to the exact cause of death. It is unknown if the alleged killer was holding or wearing the shoe when it was used to bludgeon the victim. Little is known about the shoe itself though some local Texas news agencies have described it as a "spindly high heel." The family of the victim has not yet been notified. The victim's name is being withheld until family is given notice of his passing. Parklane Condominiums have refused to comment on the crime or release information on who owns the condo where the crime occurred. Women Nike Free Run 4.0 V2 Anthracite New Green Teal "I never realized I could accumulate wealth over time by putting a small amount of money aside each month. I always thought I had to wait until I had large amounts of money before I could start a retirement or emergency savings account." This comment came from a woman who had been attending one of my Financial Dating classes. This paradigm shift was causing a new world of financial possibilities to open up for her. I experienced a similar shift when I helped my husband open his retirement account. We started his account with just $25. Each month we increased his contributions by $10. Because the amount was so small, we found it easy to do, and it never caused any financial strain. We were able to boost our retirement savings even more after we paid off our credit card debt. We took our monthly credit card payment and applied it towards our retirement savings. Because we had already adjusted financially to making our credit card payments, it was easy to apply the payments towards retirement. It was a great and effective strategy one that anyone can do. My husband and I chose to in ourselves first by automating our payments towards our credit card debts, and our retirement and emergency savings. We didn't want to wait to see if we would have money available at the end of each month. Our payments were never late, and they occurred each month like clockwork. I notice many couples and individuals do exactly the opposite they wait to see how much money they have at the end of the month before putting it towards their savings. Not surprisingly, when that time rolls around, they discover there no money left! I know the "invest in yourself first" concept can be challenging for self employed professionals who can predict exactly how much they make during any given month. My recommendation is this: make your payments automatic by choosing a time of the month when you most likely to have cash coming in from sales, projects or clients. Some people resist the "pay yourself first" concept; they want to maintain a sense of control over when their money leaves their checking account. Or they resist because they feel like there too little room they living from paycheck to paycheck and it seems that there absolutely no extra money for savings. While it's good to notice resistance to automating your savings, you need to be honest and ask yourself: Is my current system working for me? Is my savings growing? Is my debt getting paid off? So, how do you pay yourself first? You do it, by just doing it. You do it by being willing to try a new approach. I always tell my clients, small and grow tall increase your contributions gradually over time a lot easier than you think. And once you done it, you can watch your savings grow and your debt shrink, with little thought or effort. The best place to start saving is in a money market account or a money market fund. Money market accounts are available at most banks or credit unions where deposits are insured by the FDIC for up $100,000. They earn about twice as much interest as a regular savings account. Money market funds are not insured by the FDIC. But if you willing to take a little more risk they often have higher rates of return than money market accounts. Treasury bills. So, again, here what you can do now: If opening a money market account or fund feels too intimidating, open a regular savings account at your local bank. After you done some additional research, transfer the money to a money market account or fund. 3. Start with as little as a $25 (or less) per month and make it automatic Pick a day of the month shortly after you typically receive income. Gradually increase your savings each month by 1% of your income or $10 a month. Then congratulate yourself for taking a big leap towards financial health and happiness.
